I just had an overnight stay at a very historic area in our country. It’s a golfing community that started in 1895 as an area of desolate land… 6000 acres bought at $1.25 per acre. One man had a vision to create an entire town and an entire activity that would change the face of our nation’s pastime. He hired an architect who came and looked over the 6000 acres and had a vision and a dream of what it would look like. 120 years later I’m standing on this ground amazed at this creation.

As I began to walk around the area I thought about all the amazing people at the turn-of-the-century in the early 1900s that had great dreams and visions. People that thought farther ahead of their own time of ways they could have legacies that would live forever.

I’m reminded of the scripture:

“Our great desire is that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts, in order to make certain that what you hope for will come true. Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6:11-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Are you the type of person with a passion and a dream that could change generations?  Are you the type of person that when you see 6000 acres of desolate land you see a thriving community?

It’s so easy in our consumer culture to lose sight of things that are incredible. I want to encourage you today not to become dull, not to become indifferent, but instead follow the example of those that have built great things and be a great builder yourself.

There is really only one creator who inspires us to do incredible things. I hope today is the beginning of incredible things for you with a legacy of incredible proportion.
