PSALM 13:3 (NLT) Turn and answer me, Olord my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die.

3 Steps Where Doubt Leads To Faith

1. Good Questions Are More Important Than Good Answers.

I’ve learned a long time ago that the only stupid question is the one never asked. Some confuse doubt with a lack of faith and in some cases it can be toxic.  But doubt should always have questions. In Psalm 13:3 we see where David’s passion was for an answer.. an answer from the one he trusts, he said “turn and answer me”.  In verse 5 & 6 we read this:

5 But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. 6 I will sing to the lord because he is good to me.

So, even in the wait… In the midst of the moment where you hear nothing.. David’s posture was.. I still trust… I still rejoice.. I will still sing!  May your doubt or lack of answers never cause you to lose sight of the one who is good to you!  Good questions and strong trust are always more important than the answers we may be seeking.

2. Seeing Is Not Believing

Hebrews 11:1 Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.

Faith is more than belief, it is trust.  I have facts introduced to me in my life that cause questions/doubt and sometimes unbelief!  What I have to do is trust.  I have a friend who pointed out I don’t have a “hope” like I sure hope this thing works.. I have hope that I KNOW THE ONE I’M TRUSTING.. my hope is active!!  When it looks hopeless and the facts (the things I see or physically feel) are screaming at me.. my hope/belief is in the one I trust!

3. Never Give Up or Give In!

Galatians 9-10 (MSG) So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith.

I know many retired people and one thing I have learned from them is never to stop.  When they stop.. they usually die. When they learn to keep going (balancing a healthy life of rest) they are always happier, healthier and whole.  It is infectious.  People around them are motivated to do more. Even in the midst of questions you may personally have.. don’t give up or give in.  Press up… Press in!!  There is a harvest coming.. Even if it is not your own, it will be for the benefit of all!!!

And remember through it all…. #GodsGotThis
