“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”
Ephesians 5:15-17 ESV

I can remember when going through basic training we were taught how to look where you’re going.  Some people just carelessly walk staring at their feet and oblivious to the world around them.. others gazing off into la-la land somewhere and both walk smack into a wall!!  I was taught to watch where I was going. Why?? You can walk right into a mine field and if you’re not observant of your surroundings and each step.. BOOM!!!!

We are taught in this scripture to look carefully HOW you walk. It appears there are two ways

1. Wise

2. Unwise

I think it’s obvious which choice to make.  Yet, I know I have found myself in unwise situations more times than I’d like to admit.  In the midst of a wild time here around the election year in the U.S.A. there are plenty of examples of foolishness to go around…. one would never consider one’s own actions to be as crazy as what you see on tv or read about online… would we??? 😉

How do you look?  If someone was watching the TV of your life.. would it be the next post on FB that goes viral??  The next picture that the paparrazi goes crazy over?

We’re told to not be foolish, but to understand what the will of the Lord is.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE WILL OF THE LORD FOR YOUR LIFE?

That’s part of looking carefully.  That is part of looking wise instead of foolish. One of the biggest hurdles to that in this scripture for many of is is one short 4 letter word:

TIME

We are told to make the best use of it. So.. my challenge and encouragement today is.. are you spending the best quality of time looking for a wise choice and understand God’s will for your life?

If the answer is yes… that’s FANTASTIC!!! For the vast majority of everyone else.. You’re not alone!!

You can change that!!  You can change your focus.  In a world of evil, a world of distractions.. we MUST make the time to seek what is really important!!  We have to look carefully!!!

I hope you (me too) do that this week!!!  And while your doing that.. remember this.. #GodsGotThis
