1 Corinthians 2:14 ESV The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

I recently began a small teaching series on worship to our worship team and a few things stood out to me.. one of which was:

Worship is the result of the reality of the creator and responding to that reality.

It has occurred to me more than once that the scripture I quoted above in 1 Corinthians is that:

1. At times, I don’t fully perceive the reality of God and at times

2. Those I’m leading don’t fully perceive the reality of God.

We are a result driven culture.. WE WANT RESULTS!! If they don’t happen the way we expect or demand.. then something is wrong.  A big mistake is seeking after the results (an experience) rather than seeking after reality (God). It also has a major bearing on how we lead. I want to be a reality check kind of leader!

What’s true is not always truth.  “What are you talking about Matt.. is that some sort of political twisted statement??!!!”

No.  Here’s an example.

TRUTH:  I have cancer and it can/will kill me if something doesn’t change.

TRUE:  Jesus paid for my healing a loooooooong time ago and that changed everything! (Isaiah 53:5)

Tapping into the reality of God can seem crazy to those around us sometime.  Some would say of me…. Saying #GodsGotThis all the time and not deal with the “reality of the situation” is crazy!!!  Well.. I say…. I AM DEALING WITH REALITY.

My friends.. I want to encourage you to dig into reality today. Cross reference what you are feeling or dealing with and find a scripture or scriptures to hold onto…. they shed the light of reality on an unrealistic culture… It can be your reality check today as you proclaim…… #GodsGotThis
