And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. Matthew 24:6 NLT

There is no doubt a lot going on in our world. The constant daily reports of bad news can at times be overwhelming!

There are so many scriptures that point to exactly what is going on in our time and culture RIGHT NOW and many of them, in the old testament and new testament will rock your socks!

Now, believe it or not, this article is not a blog about eschatology, it is more about us.

I find myself wrestling through so many emotions on a daily basis. As a US Army war time vet, I find myself remembering many things from my past. As a parent, I think about my children. As a husband, I think of my wife. As a minister, I think about others. I think about end times stuff. I watch so much violence played out every single day. I pray for my friends deployed, first responders and those in charge of our safety/protection.

Face it. There is a lot going on and we are all a part of this story.

What is your role?

Many can/will argue that we have always faced times like these, and for the most part we have. However, that is usually just a distraction from the reality of a drastic change in life. Jesus was very clear about what will happen in the last days (and if we are not there, we are closer than we ever have been) and for me what we are seeing on the news now is not the biggest issue.

The biggest issue is:

ARE YOU CONFIDENTLY LIVING THE LIFE YOU WERE CALLED TO LIVE?

The verses after verse 6 are where it gets even harder for those of us claiming to be followers of Christ… but that’s for another blog……

I’ve been very fortunate in my life and I really want to value it so much that what I have experienced can make a difference. It would really suck to go through so much, do absolutely nothing and then die.

My friends, I honestly hope nothing horrible happens or has happened to you. I think what is most horrible or tragic is a person who lives a rather normal and healthy life so comfortable in it that nothing is urgent.

You have been created with a purpose. I hope that with each news broadcast, with every political rant, with any health crisis, it is a reminder to you that all we have is now and if tomorrow comes, the guarantee is it won’t get any easier and YOU are a part of the puzzle that CAN make a difference.

Don’t lose hope, because we still have it. Don’t give in, because someone else need’s you (whether you know it or not) and don’t ever forget, this whole messy part of the scene we are living out was something God told us about a long, long, long time ago and if there is one thing that is rock solidly true it is that:

#GODSGOTTHIS
