Matthew 24:10-12 NLT

10 And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. 11 And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. 12 Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold.

 

Every day that seems to be going by lately is and can be even more disappointing than the one before. These are things that have be told and foretold for centuries.

The scripture I chose today is just one of many you can read in the bible (check it out sometime) that talks about the times we are living in.

I won’t lie. Even as a follower of Christ, I still get upset by the news, by politics, by events that are happening and let’s face it…. More lawlessness and vile things are happening each day. Some will argue it’s always been that way.. that’s true, however, it is growing rapidly daily.

The question is:

WHAT ROUND ARE WE IN?

 

We can ignore it, complain about it, take part in it, but the one thing you can’t do is….

STOP IT.

 

There is a part two to the scripture I posted above and it is:

“13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 14 And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations Or all peoples. will hear it; and then the end will come.”

 

There is a final bell. All the facebook complaining about our government, which party your supporting, who you think is right, what your definition of life and love is won’t stop the last bell, it is coming.

In my frustration with our current culture, I’m reminded of truth. His truth. It stands. I can only do my best to stand with it. To share my love for Him with my wife and children, to live it out like He would if He were me.

I fail.

Often.

But with every blow, every hit and each time I hit the floor of life’s ring, I will crawl, stretch, reach and dig deep to stand again.

“Although we can’t do anything to stop the clock, we can do something about what we do between the bells.”

 

I want to encourage you to stand strong today. Stand in and for truth. His truth. That doesn’t mean a picket sign or some loud obnoxious social rant. Fight for what is really important…. You never know what round we’re really in.. However, there is always one thing you can count on…
