Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
I have had a few scriptures going around my head and heart over the past few weeks and this is one of them. It’s been preached, memed, posted and plastered everywhere for years!!
However, I felt the Lord encouraging me to share it with others. Why? We need it more than ever. Our society is drunk. Drunk on self fulfillment, self satisfaction, selfish stuff of all kinds.
Oh.. It’s disguised in things that LOOK like it helps others.. but.. it doesn’t.
We have modern day crucifixion happening every night on television. People being slaughtered either in character or in the flesh.
Chaos screams for order!
Here is what’s louder:
God has a plan FOR YOU!!
Yeah, yeah.. I know.. heard it before, blah, blah, blah…. Look at the scripture one more time.
1. I KNOW THE PLANS I HAVE FOR YOU….
Not the media, not a politician, not your hair dresser, not the bartender…. GOD.
2. THEY ARE PLANS FOR GOOD
Good? We think financial security, great cars, healthy bodies?? While that is true.. have you ever considered that something bad could actually be something good???
Is my cancer good? Absolutely not.. never his intention… Can He use it for my good.. Absolutely!! Well.. Matt.. what a stupid evil God that is.. saying he would give you cancer for good… I NEVER SAID THAT!!! But FOR MY GOOD is completely different. I have learned so much about myself, I have been given a platform I never would have had otherwise. Tens of thousands of people know of me and pray for me. I can’t tell you how many people I have talked to over the past 2 years who have now committed their life to Christ BECAUSE I HAVE CANCER!!!!!
So, yes.. His plans are for your good. Maybe you should reexamine your bad to see if God is really at work.
3. NOT FOR DISASTER
When it feels like disaster, I can’t bury myself in it. Oh, it’s real easy to try, But God tells us in Genesis 50:20 ESV
As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people[a] should be kept alive, as they are today.
So, again… examine the bad (evil) and look to see where God may be moving.. He is.
4. A FUTURE AND A HOPE
What could possibly be better??!! What is really sad is that if we are so caught up in the misconception of good, we may very well miss His plan that includes a future and a hope.
I’m here to proclaim there is more.
GOD HAD TO CREATE AN ENTIRE UNIVERSE JUST TO HOLD HIS PLANS FOR YOU!!!
His plans are BIG!!!! So.. I want to encourage you today to think different. Look differently. Gain a fresh perspective. Take a scripture that may have been worn out in your head and let it breath new life into you today!!!!
It’s going to be incredible!!!! And through it all.. never forget…..
