MATTHEW 6:34 NLT

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

“Hey Matt… You keeping out of trouble?”  Have you ever heard a question like that before? There is no doubt that we all see it, experience it and have to face it.  Trouble.

I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Amanda this week. She is facing trouble head on.. literally!!

Amanda is facing severe brain tumors attacking her body and the “news” she gets isn’t always good.

THE DIFFERENCE?

She is not a quitter. One of the things she said that is SO VERY TRUE is.. why would we borrow trouble from the future?

There is enough to deal with right now than to stress and worry (a cancer in itself) about something that isn’t even here yet… TOMORROW!! Jesus told us specifically in the scripture above not to do that.. He also pointed to the fact that that alone doesn’t make trouble disappear.. He just helped us to pinpoint the fight, and that fight is now!

Jesus told us not to worry about it. He didn’t say to ignore it. Worrying about trouble is a weight we are not designed to carry and the good news is that past today…..HE IS ALREADY THERE!

If you have a chance, read the scripture before it (vs. 33) and spend some time with these two over the day or next few days.

1. IS HE THE MAIN FOCUS IN YOUR LIFE?

2. ARE YOU SEEKING THE RIGHT THINGS?

3. ARE YOU TRUSTING THAT HE REALLY DOES HAVE THIS?

I can’t tell you that I or Amanda are doing cartwheels that we have cancer. That doesn’t change the thoughts that can roll through your mind. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve though things like: “will I ever see my son and daughter get married with my wife at my side?” “Will I get to be a part of___???”  “Will I ever get to do___??”  “Will this pain ever stop?”  “Will I ever have a full day of energy?”  Question over question over question. It’s real, but it is what we do with them that really matters.

I want to encourage you NOT to take on the troubles of tomorrow.. there is enough to go around today and what’s even greater is that YOU’RE NOT ALONE! He is with you. He has made promises to you available in His Word (dig around). You have people in your life (if you don’t think so, start looking) that are able to help as you walk through it.

Don’t give up. Hold on. You’re going to get through this. Take some time to digest just these 2 scriptures in Matthew 6:33-34 and I’d love to hear about it below.  And always remember, no matter what you face or are facing:
