Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable. Hebrews 4:13 NLT

I had the opportunity to talk with someone today that really sparked something in me. The picture in this week’s blog is hilarious, but what it points to is that beneath it all, you can’t hide what’s really there.

When we compartmentalize things, when we stuff things away, it may go unnoticed for a period of time, but eventually it has a way of being exposed.

When I took a trip to Ireland and Scotland with my bride, it was one of the best trips of my life, but at the end of the day.. I still had cancer. It was still there.

When we try to take vacations from the “cancers” in our lives, you can try to ignore it all you want, but it’s still there and it still has to be dealt with.

What weight have you been tucking away? What pain, problem, situation that still exists?

Our Father in Heaven isn’t up there with a note pad and waiting for every bad thing you’ve done to get that AHA! moment. What he really wants is for you to be as naked with the truth as he already sees. It’s like being that baby in the picture and saying “What, I’m incredibly good looking and a body people would die for” and when exposed…. well.. you get the rest….

1. Face the issue

2. Know that being real is an open door to freedom

3. Weight doesn’t just fall off with one salad!

Be willing to take the time necessary to shed the weight that is weighing you down. Trust God. Confide in a friend or friends and start living life the way he intended.

None of this is easy, I know that for sure. I have to deal with this myself, however, I want you to know, you’re not crazy, you’re not alone and never forget….
