Hebrews 12:15 NLT “Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.”

Bitterness is a horrible self inflicted disease.  It is like a cancer that eats away at you.  If it takes root in your life.. It will affect everyone around you.

The bible teaches us to search our own hearts.  If there is a thorny root.. Pray it out.. Forgive the person or persons that you have offense against so you yourself are not poisoned. Seek forgiveness of others if you are the offense. I have heard and seen for years that hurt people hurt people, it may not be intentional, but it happens.

The next step after our own heart check is to lovingly be on the watch out for others to receive that same grace from God.  You can’t watch out for others if there is no relationship.

re·la·tion·ship  noun

the way in which two or more concepts, objects, or people are connected, or the state of being connected.

A relationship is a connection, first and foremost your relationship with the Father and then others.  If the connections between you and Father is strong, how can you not hope that for others.

I am by no means saying anything here because I have arrived at being a perfect example.. I am not. Just a living one.  Strive to be on the watch today.  Watch your own heart.  Are there signs of a root in your life?  Is there someone to forgive, something to let go of? Is there someone your connected with that can use that same loving grace?  Be on the watch today.
