1 Samuel 16:7 NLT
But the LORD said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The LORD doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”
We all have them. Two eyes, two ears, a nose, a mouth. We all have faces and many times even our own face.. the same nose, the same mouth, the same eyes.. can look different. Not just because we lose weight, or gain weight, not young or old or have an issue that altars our appearance. Our faces can change by what is going on on the inside.
You see, we all wear many faces. Some of those awesome smiles on facebook, when on the inside your dying. Either physically, emotionally or spiritually.
There is one who can know every face and it’s meaning. There is one who knows exactly what you are feeling. There is one who experienced your pain.
As Samuel said so long ago, it still stands true. The LORD doesn’t see the things the way you see them. People judge outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.
Not in ways we may jump to conclusions over.
As a person who has had to face my own mortality, I look in the mirror differently. I see things in people differently, it’s hard to explain, BUT GOD, looks at us that way too.. only better!
The amount of love in His heart for us, for YOU is so huge, I can’t begin to type enough words or pictures posted to show it. He sent His ONLY son. He chose to go through it all… FOR LOVE.
FOR YOU
I don’t know what face you may be wearing today, but today is the gift that you have, The moment to change everything. The moment where life means more.
God, I thank you that you are looking at my heart. That you really know what I mean, You really know how I feel. You really know what I want to say. Father, help me to do that, to get it out right. Let my face look like yours, in every situation. Let every tear be cleansing. Let every laugh be pure and healing, let every smile look like all of heaven just cheered!
YOU KNOW OUR HEARTS LORD. Help our communities, help our towns, our homes and may we see not what we want or think, but faces that look like YOU.
In the midst of it all Lord, may we never, ever forget….
